Sched is a professional development event management system designed to coordinate PD/conference scheduling. It can be used for conferences and professional development by making multi-track events east to schedule. It can also manage and track attendance and registration and provide a clear overview of multiple sessions across different locations.
HCS Professional Development should be planned based on applicable data and aligned with the Strategic Plan. Only department heads should be providing HCS staff with professional development; they may choose to delegate this responsibility to the appropriate members of their staff.
In order to submit points for in-division events, the activities must first align with the VDOE License Renewal Manual. Your event will need to be a minimum of 5 points = 5 hours. These hours do not need to be consecutive, but they do all need to be on similar topics for a single activity. Most in-division activities will be categorized in the Professional Development Category--contact a member of the Induction & Development team if you believe your event qualifies for a different category.
Presenters can earn 3x the number of points for the amount of time they present accounting for both the preparation and presentation time. For instance, if a presenter facilitates a 2-hour presentation, this equates to 6 hours = 6 points,. Presenters can ONLY earn points for the FIRST TIME they share the content/presentation. If you are the facilitator of an activity and also the presenter, you will need to add yourself to the roster and award yourself the appropriate number of points on your PD tracking sheet.
