Behavior Supports

Behavior Intervention and Support

All Special Education teachers receive training and support in regards to helping students with challenging behaviors that may be related to their disabilities. There are two behavior specialists in the department that work with teachers and the Special Education coordinator group. If you have concerns about your child’s behavior at school, contact your child’s Special Education teacher to talk about possible strategies and interventions. Some students may require a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). The IEP team can determine if a child may require an FBA/BIP and/or other behavioral supports through the IEP process.
