Reminders
All student library books are due May 10. Chromebooks will be collected the following week. As part of our collection process we will be cleaning and checking each Chromebook for damage and will send home notices of any fines. Please take care of lost/damaged books or chargers and damaged Chromebook fines before we leave for summer.

Stability:
Kids thrive under routine. Setting up a bedtime schedule and a morning routine that is followed can help your student be prepared mentally for the school day.
Knowing any and all transportation changes ahead of time can help your student feel relaxed to know they are going to get to school on time and be ready to crush the test!
Having all materials ready, backpacks packed, lunch boxes ready, and clothes laid out can help start the morning off strong.
Positive Affirmations:
Yes, the GA Milestones are very important. However your student's success is measured in many different ways than just one test.
Encourage them to do their best, but also let them know that you will be proud of them, regardless.
Noticing their mood and how they are feeling leading up to the test can help you, as the parent, know how to check-in. If you notice your child seems overly stressed and want someone to check in on them, please reach out to their homeroom teacher or myself to help them.

Mrs. Horn, ART - May has arrived so quickly! What a wonderful school year it has been with our Lanier artists. They have created many 2-dimensional as well as 3-dimensional works of art and utilized materials from oil pastels, to clay, to paint, origami and more! As we wrap up the school year, I would like to add that I love seeing all of the art your artist creates over the summer, whether it is from art camp, or something created outside in nature! Coach Gibson and Coach Wiley, PE - Wow, how is it already the end of the school year! We have finsihed up Fitnessgram testing with Grades 3-5. Grades K-2 have completed their locomotor skills assessment. In PE during the month of May, we are focusing on brain stimulating games and activities. Lots of activities going on in May, be sure you stay hydrated and safe. Have a wonderful summer!
Mrs. Kindberg, Computer Lab- This month in Computer Lab, we will be wrapping up the year with some Duolingo learning, reading using Bookflix and practicing our typing skills on Learning.com. What a wonderful year it has been and our students have learned so many new things! I hope you and your students have a lovely summer as we wrap up this school year!
Mrs. Howard, STEM - It has been another exciting and memorable year in the STEM Lab! From Kindergarten’s parachutes for paratroopers to 5th Grade’s drone challenges, time in the STEM Lab has made problem-solving engaging and relevant to all of our students. Alongside their peers, our Wildcats have deepened their understanding that risk-taking is not something to fear, failure is a means to success, and everyone has something to offer their team. Thank you for sharing your children with me this school year and I look forward to seeing them next year in the Lab for the STEM challenges to come!

School nutrition information
Breakfast is served to children each morning from 7:10-7:45. If a student comes in after 7:45 and is in need of breakfast, they will have the opportunity to take their tray to class with them and eat it quickly. Our preference is for them to arrive early enough each day to ensure plenty of time to eat their breakfast in the lunchroom and be ready to begin class when the bell rings! Thank you for your support!

We are very lucky to have a crossing guard that helps us in the morning and afternoon to ensure our line moves as smooth as possible. He has asked that in the mornings, as soon as you see the flashing light (on his hat/uniform), that you will go ahead and turn on your blinker. This will signal to him quickly who will be turning and will hopefully help the line move even faster.
Car Rider Alert! Morning drop-off is between 7:10 am and 7:45 am. Students must be dropped at the gym doors where adults are standing and not in the roundabout area, this is extremely unsafe for students. The gym doors will close promptly at 7:45, after that students are tardy and will need to be dropped at the front of the school. Do NOT drop students off without an adult.
Afternoon car riders, please remember that if your student is in 3rd-5th grades or has a sibling they are the later pickup time at 2:20. If your child requires assistance with buckling, please pull forward to the lower parking lot and assist them there. Do not do this in the car rider line. See the diagram here.
Students WILL be marked tardy if they arrive in car riders AFTER 7:45. Please be sure to have your child here on time each day. In seat ready to learn at 7:45. Students may begin arriving at school at 7:10.
