Students should consider joining The Academic Team because it:
Builds academic skills and knowledge
Develops teamwork and leadership
Strengthens college applications and resumes
Allows students to compete and represent their school
Helps students meet other motivated and driven students
Provides opportunities for Varsity Letters and Graduation Cords
Is fun, competitive, and rewarding
You do not have to be a straight-A student to join. You just have to be willing to try, learn, and compete.
Colleges are not just looking for grades. They are looking for students who are involved, competitive, and leaders in their school.
Being part of Academic Team shows colleges that you:
Are academically motivated
Participate in academic competition
Work as part of a team
Commit to an organization over multiple years
Take on leadership roles
Participate in academic service and tutoring
Represent your school in competitions
Academic Team looks great on college applications, scholarships, and resumes.
Starting this year, Academic Team members will have opportunities to earn service hours by tutoring other students.
Team members will help:
Tutor students in academic subjects
Help students study for tests
Support younger students
Participate in academic service projects
This allows Academic Team members to earn community service hours while also building leadership and teaching skills, which colleges love to see.
The Academic Team is a Varsity Lettering activity at Cherokee Bluff.
