General Questions
Send general questions to your camp's email address, and a staff member on your camp's leadership team (Director, Assistant Director, or Camp Unit Lead) will follow up. Please note that emails will be responded to either first thing in the morning or after the camp day has ended. Our camp leadership team is active with campers and staff throughout the day and does not check emails frequently during camp hours.
Absences
If your camper will be out for a day or multiple days of camp, please let us know. We need to know where campers are if they're enrolled in camp and aren’t accounted for. If we don’t hear from you, expect a call from us.
Late Arrival/Early Pick-up
If your camper is arriving late, please just let the office know. If you need to pick up your camper earlier than usual, please email us at least 48 hours in advance. If it is a last-minute need, please call the camp office to speak with someone.
Transportation Changes
Any changes to your camper’s transportation should be requested at least 72 hours in advance. Last-minute transportation changes must be made by phone and confirmed by camp leadership. If the camp staff has not confirmed, the camp will follow the previously made plans.
Emergencies
If there is an emergency outside the camp and you need to reach your camper, please call the camp office directly. Phone numbers for each camp are listed on this page, and we encourage you to save them on your phone. Hale's main office cannot transfer calls to the camp offices.
Communication Expectations
At camp, our staff focuses on creating a safe, fun, and enriching experience for every camper. We believe every camper deserves the opportunity to explore, grow, and gain a sense of independence, so we do not provide daily updates on individual campers, or share photos of daily goings-on. However, we do periodically share highlights via email, in our private Facebook group, and in the “Camp News” section of this Camper Resource Site.
You'll receive emails about necessary paperwork that must be completed before the start of camp and your camper’s session, along with other helpful and fun information.
Pre-Season Emails from Directors — In the months leading up to summer, Camp Directors will send emails with updates, important reminders, and fun news.
Transportation Confirmation — An email will go out in May and again in June, confirming your camper's bus route and stop for each session.
In-Season Emails — We also send update emails from our unit directors throughout each 2-week session:
Friday before a session – Welcome email
Friday of Week 2 – Session recap
Facebook/Social Posts

We use our Facebook group to share reminders, memories, and helpful tips. Other things you'll find in the group:
Event highlights
Staff introductions
Camp spotlights
Posts from families
Please note that we value the nature-based experience we provide our campers and put all our time and attention into being in the moment with them. Any photos we share are of moments our summer photographers can capture during allotted times, but unfortunately, we cannot always capture photos of every camper.
Phone Calls
While phone calls from camp are typically infrequent, camp may call you directly from time to time to ask specific questions or to discuss specific scenarios at camp. These could be health-related or connected to your camper’s behavior at camp. Phone calls may come from camp leadership or our wellness center.
