Staff members should not be on their cell phones when in the classroom with students.
Circle time needs to be concise and limited to a short amount of time (5-10 minutes in duration).
DTI MUST be done for 2 hours a day. Students should work with their assigned paraeducators or classroom teacher in a "small group" on their programs. Half day classes need at least one hour in each AM and PM sessions.
Data taking must be input weekly into ReThink.
Paraeducators should be assigned students. Whether this is rotated daily or weekly, it should be established and posted in the classroom.
At 12:40 pm, shades must be up, the lights must be turned on, sleepy time music must be turned off. Staff members start to wake up students one by one.
All students must be awake by 1:20 pm and ready to participate in afternoon activities.
Individual behavior modifications should be in place. Staff should use token boards, food reinforcers, visual reminders or even timers. If you need assistance in making sure they are being used appropriately, please reach out to your BCBA.
