  • Thank you to Dave Edwards for his steadfast leadership, support of his personnel and commitment to ensuring the campuses are prepared for our return in May.
  • Thank you to Carrie Potteiger for working with OIST to get set up remotely to continue to process claims for the dental clinic. Her extra effort to keep on track with income received and claims being processed along with her daily interaction with our clinical patients through Jabber is very much appreciated.
  • Thanks to Edyta Lonon and Zack Laurence for working with students on the emergency computer loan process, ensuring students had the technology they needed to continue learning remotely. They have worked as a team to contact over 175 students via multiple emails to confirm needs and schedule appointments to pick up equipment.
  • Thanks to the following library staff and faculty--Meriah Swope, Kathleen Frederick, Becky Anstine, Jennifer Hummel, Angela Miessler, Ashley Tissue, Lisa Gregory, Diane Wollaston, J.L. Garner, Bernadette Lynch, Mary Wallick, and Laura Spurigo--for making 600 phone calls to students to determine computer equipment needs as we started our student equipment rollout.
  • To Timothy Smith for developing the D2L module for tutor training and resources for HACC’s college-wide remote tutoring program, as well as creating a student survey, faculty outreach, and a HACC Tutoring widget for faculty (in partnership with Roger Garber).
  • To Holly Estrada, who has been very helpful in managing several needs from Academic Affairs at Lancaster in the remote environment. She has facilitated conversations with vendors to manage equipment purchases and deliveries in light of the current physical campus closures and allowed the College to procure necessary equipment, despite challenges to delivery.
  • Thanks to Ron Worby, Ron Benkendorff, and the Lancaster security team for their ongoing work to keep the Lancaster Campus safe and functional during the campus closure.
  • To Monica Dixon-Howard for her work with students in SGA and SPB, as well as her collaboration with other college student development personnel, to develop broad and engaging remote program options for HACC students.
  • To the Communications Center Team for assisting the Admissions Department with communicating to new students about their next steps and following up with students who have requested placement testing!
  • To all the staff on the Admissions Team for continuing to serve prospective students, developing a Virtual Open House for all student populations, and for their creativity to generate new ideas for Virtual Events!
  • To Cris Quade, Betty Kopp, Justine Ekstrom, and Jenny Walker for processing new student applications and entering multiple measure data!
  • To Sarah Sanders for going above and beyond her job. She has been immensely important in keeping all five campuses’ authorizations organized.

  • The Lancaster Bookstore Student Workers for their continued service and support to the bookstore staff.
  • Steve Sagar for providing quality and professional service to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, as well as his efforts in keeping our student workers informed, involved and engaged with the bookstore and College developments.

  • To The York Bookstore team, Matthew Nowik and Lisa Krug, who have taken the remote working from home opportunity to take advantage of the many online training opportunities on the HACC LMS system.

  • A huge thank-you to Emanda Reiner who has worked above and beyond the call of duty in every way possible to ensure our students, instructors and nursing home clients have been apprised of nurse aide class cancellations and our plans to resume the classes when we are permitted to do so.
  • Thank you to the massage therapy instructors who have demonstrated great teamwork and are ensuring that the impact of COVID-19 on our day and evening students is minimal. They have placed whatever curriculum possible on D2L and Zoom, and are a great example of how “teamwork makes the dream work!”
  • To the Workforce Development Division’s Early Childhood Education Coordinator, Melissa Nagengast, as she made and shipped over 200 masks to healthcare workers in New York City.   • To Melissa Etzweiler for successfully modifying the EMT apprenticeship program to facilitate the continuity of HACC's first EMT apprenticeship.
  • To Robert Schanke, Joshua Eckenrode, and Nicholas Landis for creating new virtual reality and augmented reality content for innovative remote learning in Precision Machining! This initiative is possible thanks to the support from the HACC Foundation John E. Paxton and Gloria W. Paxton Fund for Excellence in STEAM.

  • To Roger Garber for provisioning Zoom pro accounts - both existing and future; for adding over 100 faculty to the FRC to ensure access to training materials; for delivering devices to Lancaster for deployment; for working with Matt Gibson to stand up VDI for COMM on an extremely accelerated timeline.
  • To Joe Mendrzycki, Jordan Barrie and Qiquan Wang for preparing the Remote Teaching Readiness resources in the Faculty Resource Center on very tight timeline; for conducting 6-hours of training on Tuesday focused on walking faculty through moving to remote instruction and conducting 12 topics-based training sessions on Wednesday.
  • To Cathy Rosenkrans, Louise Darlington, Elisa Cohen and Scott Decker for working in new positions or positions they had not technically started yet with the added burden of COVID-19.
  • To Scott Decker for coordinating a massive college-wide technology roll-out.
  • To Nadia Ivanova for her commitment to supporting the One College Banner & Systems project amidst the disruption of the COVID-19 remote work environment. Nadia's leadership skills were invaluable to the success of the remote testing the week of March 30th and during the remote Ellucian engagements.
  • To Heather Gutschmidt, Matt Gordon, Greg Daub, and Ray Rickell for commitment to supporting HR with the implementation of PageUp which is scheduled to go live in April.
  • To Aaron Stout and Matt Gordon for their quick response to create a new application for employees who assist students with password resets. The new tool replaced a tool that was inaccessible when working remotely.
  • To Dawn Mull, Marcia Washinger, Steph Hockley, Lori Amspacker, Andy Marah, Genita Mangum, Nadia Ivanova, Greg Daub, and Meredith Jenkins for their dedication and diligence in supporting the Ellucian engagements for the One College Banner Reorganization project. Working in a remote capacity for very long days that were to be on-site has been a challenge, but the team has been attentive and productive to allow the project to keep moving forward.
  • To Evelin Schwartz and Naeem Yazdani for stepping in as new managers and quickly asserting themselves through project leadership and planning efforts as well as focusing their energies and efforts in the right places.
  • To Jim Walker for consistently maintaining and improving our applications including Always on VPN through system tweaks and updates as well as providing expert troubleshooting to help prevent issues before they arise.
  • To Belinda Ward for her willingness to take on new projects and seamlessly integrate into the systems administration team.
