McCormick Library has purchased surgical technology instruments for surgical technology programs. Students can sign the kit out while in the library and learn the names and uses of these items, which is so helpful for our students. The library also purchased more national exam certification study guides and flashcards for SURG TECH. Thank you to Kathleen Conley, Alex DiPeri, Kim McGovern, Jade Pritz, and Alexis Breinich for collaborating to make this happen for HACC students.

Caren LaRue had the opportunity to meet Alex Snyder, Workforce Development, who is new to the Gettysburg Campus. He invited the nurses to participate in a Disaster Drill on the Harrisburg Campus! There were over 130 participants in a re-enactment of the Boston Marathon bombing. Brooke Kaiser, Sean Page, and Caren LaRue oversaw the emergency room where victims were transported via ambulance following field triage and main dispatch communication. 3rd semester Gettysburg Nursing students had the opportunity to be both a victim and an ED nurse. The highlight of the day was the landing of Life Lion's newest helicopter and the opportunity to meet flight paramedics.
