Alimata is studying computer information systems at HACC. While studying at HACC, she learned about an internship opportunity through College Central Network, HACC’s career services platform. She interned at WDMC Technologies to learn more about her field and later was hired as a junior developer.

Due to the increased vaccination rates in the Central Pennsylvania area and the record of low COVID-19 cases on our HACC campuses, we are excited to increase the amount of on-campus instruction for fall. In addition, we are opening the outdoor areas on HACC campuses to the public June 1, 2021, which is earlier than our original date of December 2021.
What does it mean to have the campuses open to the public?
The public can park on campus.
The public can walk the campus grounds.
We will allow outside events (but not inside events) to be held on our campuses. An example of this is the Dauphin County and UPMC COVID-19 vaccination clinic on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.
We will allow tenants to come back on campus.
Please note that:
Our buildings will not be accessible to the public.
Employees who have been working remotely must continue to do so and may not come back onto campus this summer unless authorized by filling out the Employee On-Campus Authorization form.
Anyone who needs to access a campus building must complete HACC’s online Wellness Screening form prior to each campus visit through May 29, 2021.
This information is tentative and subject to change.
Please know that your safety will continue to be our top priority! Although we cannot control COVID-19 and how it spreads, we will continue to do our part to help maintain student, employee and building safety by following protocols, as per governor’s orders and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.
Please visit hacc.edu/Coronavirus for more details.
For the fall 2021 semester, we are offering courses in several different ways to meet YOUR learning style and schedule. Please note that all courses will not be available in every format. However, with the increase in the number of on-campus classes, select student services reporting back to campus and the new delivery of course offerings, we believe that there is something for everyone.
Please watch this short video to receive an overview of the different formats.
Want to learn more about each course option? Please visit hacc.edu/Fall2021Options.
On April 21, HACC held its first-ever virtual Free College Day. Throughout the day, future HACC students were invited to visit HACC classes, take a tour of a lab, attend presentations and view demonstrations by faculty. Future students also had the opportunity to attend sessions to learn about career services, financial aid, the CARE Center and so much more!
Thanks to the HACC Foundation, $500 tuition giveaways were randomly provided to future students throughout the day.
Overall:
More than 140 future students registered for Free College Day
More than 90 sessions were held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
25 tuition giveaways were provided
Kudos to the colleagues who participated in the virtual event and made our future students a priority!
Students migrate to HACC from all over the globe. Bangyan Li, an early-childhood elementary education student from China, chose HACC after a friend and alumnus told her “HACC was an awesome school.” She visited the College and said, “Everyone was so friendly and I had a good feeling that this was a good place for me.”

The Office of College Advancement (OCA) team knows that whether we’re communicating with our students face-to-face, over the phone, by Zoom or through email, we’re competing for their attention. Like you, they may receive dozens of emails a day, and some may even be from HACC competitors.
In January 2021, Danielle Adams, integrated marketing communications coordinator for student success and special projects, and Megan Hoose, integrated marketing communications coordinator for student recruitment, held an informative Zoom session providing tips on how you can get more people to open your emails.
The best part is… you can view the session recording and gain tips from OCA’s tip jar! To view the recording, please visit bit.ly/OpenMeEmailSession.
Be on the lookout for additional OCA sessions to learn more tips and tricks. #HACCyeah
