REMINDER: Faculty evaluations and observations should be submitted to the Office of Human Resources upon completion by the supervisor and will be stored in the faculty member’s electronic personnel file. For filing purposes please save the evaluations as follows, employee first and last name, type of evaluation, (example self-evaluation or observation) and the year. Every year at HACC, our administrative, professional, and classified staff participate in the annual performance review process. The performance evaluation is an effective tool that can be utilized to promote employee growth and success, formally address performance concerns, identify training opportunities, and recognize contributions employees have made to the College.
The performance review process follows an external feedback model in the PageUp system formally known as the 360-feedback model that utilizes feedback from the employee’s self-assessment, the direct supervisor, colleagues, direct reports, and members of the College that can provide valuable insight about an employee’s performance. The external feedback model helps to minimize biases, identify top performers, and create an awareness about the employee’s strengths and areas of opportunity.
This year, as in the past, all employees are required to submit a self-assessment to their supervisor. The self-assessment allows the supervisor to understand how the employee views their performance, what the employee views as strengths and weaknesses, and how the employee plans to grow and develop in the future.
The evaluation processes this year is similar to past processes but also includes some changes that have been implemented using the PageUp System replacing the current system formally known as Halogen. Training and additional resources will be provided on the changes and functionality of the PageUp system located on the myhacc portal under Human Resources tab located under Employee Relations tab.
The performance review process timeline begins in February 2021 and will end in June 2021.
The review period runs from February 1 – January 31.
Each competency will be rated. The rating scale includes:
o Sometimes Exceeds Expectations
o Consistently Meets Expectations
o Does Not Meet Expectations
A formal remediation plan should be implemented for any competency that receives a rating of “Does Not Meet Expectations.” The office of Human Resources should be contacted immediately for any performance concerns.
Any employee participating in the performance review process are required to establish future goals in conjunction with their supervisor and will provide annual updates in the PageUp System.
