Earn 4 Credentials in the Hospitality Industry! 

NOTE: To qualify for these courses, you must live in the Goodwill Big-Bend region and must be legal to work in the US. Some courses are onsite and some are online, but even online courses require occasional onsite visits at one of our Career Centers.

Eligibility Criteria

Our Hospitality courses are available at no cost to students. However, students will have to pay for the certification exams. You must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

• Legal to work in the United States 

• Live in the Goodwill Big-Bend Region

• Ready and willing to work in the Hospitality Industry

Food Handler Course

NOTE: You must be legal to work in the United States and live in the Goodwill Big Bend region. 

5-Hour Online Course- This course prepares you to obtain the SafeStaff Foodhandler Certificate, which will allow you to handle food at any food establishment

The course covers:

• Food Contaminants

• Cleaning & Sanitizing

• Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)

• Food Flow

• Time & Temperature Control

Restaurant Guest Service Course

NOTE: You must be legal to work in the United States and live in the Goodwill Big Bend region. 

10-Hour Online Course- After completing this course, you can earn a Restaurant Server credential from the National Restaurant Association to add to your resume!

16-Hour Online Course- This course will prepare you for a national Front Desk Representative certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), which will help you land a job in the hospitality industry or move up at your current job.

3-Week Onsite Class & Online Course- This course will prepare you for a national Guestroom Service certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), which will help you land a job in the hospitality industry or healthcare industry.
