NOTE: To be eligible for the Construction Essentials course, you must be legal to work in the United States and must be able to attend a 5-week onsite class in Tallahassee, Monday-Friday, from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM EST.

Eligibility Criteria

The Construction Essentials class is available at no cost to students. You must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

• Legal to work in the United States 

• Able to attend a 5-week onsite class in Tallahassee, Florida (Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM-12:30 PM EST)

• Ready and willing to interview with employers and work in the Construction Industry

Construction Essentials Course

NOTE: You must be legal to work in the United States. 

5-Week Onsite Class- Our Construction Essentials class prepares you for a career in the Construction Industry. The class meets onsite Mon-Fri from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM EST. The curriculum for the class includes worksite safety, construction math, construction drawings, hand tools, power tools, material handling, and basic rigging.

During the 5-week class, you will work extensively with hand tools and power tools and receive professional-level training from a certified instructor. 

At the end of the course you will:

• Earn a Nationally Recognized OSHA 10 Credential

• Earn a Nationally Recognized Construction Core Credential from NCCER

• Interview with local employers from a variety of construction fields

Graduates are qualified for the following entry-level positions in the Construction Industry:

• General Laborer

• Construction Laborer

• Carpentry Laborer

• General Contractor's Laborer

• Landscape Laborer

• Painting Laborer

• Commercial Construction Laborer

• Flooring and Tile Laborer

• Masonry Worker

• Roofing Laborer
