Class websites are accessed through the Academic Dashboard for teachers, and the student and parent portals for those Gulliver community members.
Each class website must include the following pages:
Class Homepage - Faculty bio, photo and general welcome information
Class Information - General policies and procedures relevant to the grade level/division. (Primary and Lower School teachers will receive these documents during training.)
Yearly Curriculum Overview (Lower and Primary School teachers only) - Interdisciplinary, Social Emotional, Responsive Classroom. A template has been created for each division, and will be shared with you during training.
Unit Overview page(s) for each unit listed in the curriculum map. Units for 1st quarter must be published by start of school and then updated with new units. A template has been created and will be shared with you during training.
Primary and Lower School teachers: rgriffin@gulliverprep.org
Middle School teachers: escott@gulliverprep.org
Upper School teachers (Prep campus): jschoenwald@gulliverprep.org
Upper School teachers (EDGE campus): msullivan@gulliverprep.org
The faculty webpage bios should have the following 3 elements:
1. Credential — for example, degree(s) and any or other credentials that may be of interest to a parent/guardian (not a ‘resume list’ but rather at least one item or more to share that demonstrates qualifications/ background or even years of service, if pertinent, for your teaching role)
2. Why teach? What do you love about teaching, working with students, working at Gulliver or the like.
3. Something personal that’s appropriate to share like a hobby, accomplishment, favorite pastime, travel destination or sports team, etc. that can help give parents a glimpse of who you are as a person outside of your teaching role.
Your bio should be 3-5 sentences in length.
Here is a sample of a bio:
My name is Mrs. Jones and I am thrilled to be part of the second grade team this year! I am currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Florida International University. This is my second year partnering with Ms. Acosta, and prior to this position I was a counselor in Gulliver’s Afterschool and Enrichment program and I worked at the summer camp. I am a mom to an awesome three year old named Josh, and I also enjoy rock climbing, traveling, photography, and a day at the beach. I am excited to welcome your child into our classroom family and embark on our Gulliver adventure together.
You will need this bio when you attend the training for setting up your class website. You will also need an appropriate photo to add to your webpage.
NOTE: Place these items in your Google Drive so they will be easily available when you attend your on-site training.
