The Amoeba, so named because of its shape, is located on the second floor of Hege Academic Commons, toward the rear of the building (the New Garden Road side). The Amoeba helps facilitate collaboration by offer a large workspace, 4 computers (2 Mac and 2 Windows), and 1 Epson Perfection V600 scanner. See below for a list of software available on these computers.
All members of the Guilford community are welcome to use the technology and the space available at the Amoeba.
There are two glassed in rooms near the Amoeba, both of which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first, room 229A, is to the left of the STARS Desk and has comfortable chairs, a lamp, and an ottoman. The second, room 229B, is to the right of the STARS Desk and has a small table and two chairs by default.
Feel free to bring extra chairs into either space but please remember to return them to the Amoeba when you are finished with them.
Additionally, even though there are no explicit time limits for each room's use, please be respectful of the community and don't monopolize them all day.
