The Guide for Guilford College Faculty (last updated August 2024) provides detailed information about campus services, web-based resources, teaching matters, faculty life, and student and faculty support. It serves as an introduction to The Faculty Handbook (May 2023) and lifts up a number of key things you will need to do and become acquainted with as you get started at the college. 

Faculty Mentors Program 

Faculty Development offers the Faculty Mentors Program to all new full-time faculty members. Faculty mentors are from outside a new faculty member's home department/program. They can provide helpful feedback and advice to new faculty in teaching and other aspects of their work at Guilford. It is also a good opportunity for a new faculty to get to know more people on campus and hear their points of view on working here. A part-time faculty member can also request a faculty mentor. Faculty Connect Program 

Faculty Connect is a weekly gathering in the Gilmer room, with lunch provided. This is a space to foster collegial relationships and to stimulate both formal and informal conversations about teaching and learning. All those who are eligible to apply for faculty development funds are also eligible for faculty lunch: Full and part-time faculty, educational support faculty, and staff with assigned credit-bearing teaching responsibilities are eligible. 

A sign-in sheet is available at the entrance of the Cafeteria if you plan to have lunch during Faculty Connect.
