Navigating a Search Result (EBSCOhost)

To view a search result, click on the resource's link

The view of a resource varies depending on what information is available and has been provided for the database. But, in general, below are some things to note.

When clicking on a search result link in EBSCOhost, you will see information about the article first. Hyperlinked subject terms might be helpful to explore!

To read the actual text content, scroll down to find it.

Of course, the text will only be there if there is "HTML Full Text" available for the resource.

If there is "PDF Full Text" only, then you must click on the PDF Full Text link for the resource in order to view and read the actual content.

Notice the tools on the right to print, email, save, and cite the content. You will also find the Permalink button here.

how to Cite and Link Content

To access an automatically generated citation for a resource, click on the Cite button.

From the pop-up "Citation Format" pane, scroll to the appropriate citation style.

Then, copy-and-paste the citation into your document.

NOTE: These citations often imperfect and need to be fixed slightly once pasted. Refer to the OWL guide for more guidance.

Simply copying-and-pasting the URL from your web browser bar will NOT work for EBSCOhost.

Instead, you must copy-and-paste the Permalink for future access.

To access the Permalink for a resource, click on the Permalink button.

From the pop-up "Permalink" pane, copy-and-paste the URL into your document.
