Sporting Events

Star Spangled Banner

Choir Students and Hemingford Public School Students may request to sing the Star Spangled Banner for any sporting event. Individual Band Students may also play the Star Spangled Banner alone or with a small group. This must be coordinated between the Athletic Director, Mrs. Arneson, and those supervising the individual event. In order to sing, you must first sing the Star Spangled Banner for Mrs. Arneson before she will recommend that the Athletic Director include you on the schedule.

Football Games

Band Members in Grades 7-12 typically play for all 4 Varsity Home Football Games in the Fall Season. Please see the individual season tab for information about this year's performances. 

For Home Football Games, Band Members sit in the West side of the Hemingford Bleachers. Students will practice during class to ensure they know where to store instruments. Band students will have a break from playing during 3rd quarter after their halftime performance. Vouchers for free food and drinks redeemable at the concession stand will be handed out to students who have been on stage performing. Typically the student section has a dress-up theme for each game. The Band is encouraged to join in this dress-up theme. Please also ensure you wear clothing appropriate for the weather of the day.

Basketball Games

Band Members in Grades 7-12 typically play for the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys Home Basketball Games that occur on Friday's during the Basketball Season. Please see the individual season tab for information about this year's performances.

For Basketball Games, the Band Members perform on the Stage. Students will setup the stage during classtime for that day's game. Band students will have a break from playing during 3rd quarter after their halftime performance of each game. Vouchers for free food and drinks redeemable at the concession stand will be handed out to students who have been on stage performing.

For Basketball Games, Please wear Hemingford School Colors or a Hemingford shirt to the game.
