Classes Offered at Hemingford Public Schools
Students in Grades K-4 have a Music Class every other day following the Red/White Schedule.
Students in 5th and 6th Grade have a regular music class once a week. Students in 5th and 6th grade also have the option of taking Band which meets on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday's during school hours.
Students in 7th and 8th grade have a quarter long music class (see Powerschool for your student's specific schedule). Students in 7th and 8th grade have the option to take band which meets daily all year.
Students in Grades 9-12 have the option of taking a High School Choir or a High School Band Class which meets daily.
Performance Requirements & Communication
Each of these classes have one or more performances that students are expected to attend. Information on this year's specific performances can be found on this website. Please look on the "Home" Tab for a general list and investigate the additional drop down menu's for requirements and a schedule for each event.
For students in grades 7-12, if the student misses a required performance and is unexcused, they will need to do a makeup assignment. Makeup assignments will be allowed to be completed during regular class time. Makeup assignments typically involves the student submitting a video of themselves playing one or more of the songs from the missed performance. Videos are requested to be submitted on Google Classroom or emailed.
If you a returning student and have already been part of Mrs. Arneson's Remind Groups, you should be added to the correct class and continue to receive needed Remind messages from Mrs. Arneson.
