Alma Thomas Inspired Heart Art
This week in art, students created heart paintings inspired by Alma Thomas. They traced a heart in the center of their paper and painted it, then added repeated brushstrokes around it. Students mixed colours and explored how different shades interact when placed next to each other. The project focused on pattern, repetition, and thoughtful colour choices. The finished artwork is full of life and colour with simple shapes creating an eye-catching effect.
The students had another fantastic time skating at the GFL Twin Arena! They were excited to be on the ice with their peers and have made great progress over the past few days. It has been wonderful to see how much their confidence and skating skills have improved. A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers who joined us at the arena. Your support, both on and off the ice, was truly appreciated — we couldn’t have done it without you!
We had such a special Valentine’s Day in 3A!
The students took part in a “Secret Kindness” activity, where each child became a secret classmate to someone else in our room. Throughout the day, they completed small acts of kindness and left heartfelt notes to spread positivity and warmth. It was wonderful to see so many thoughtful gestures and smiling faces!
We also created adorable Love Monster Valentine’s Day bags, exchanged Valentines with one another, played a fun round of Valentine’s Bingo, and explored a variety of activities from our choice board — including digital heart art. The classroom was filled with creativity, laughter, and kindness all day long.
Thank you for providing snacks for your child to enjoy. Your support helped make the day even more special! 💕
