Important Reminders
December 20th - January 4th - Chrismtas Break
January 5th - School Resumes
This week, the students enjoyed participating in a Polar Express book study leading up to Christmas break. We listened to the story narrated by Liam Neeson and completed a variety of literacy activities focused on comprehension and vocabulary. The students also explored their creativity by writing “What if?” paragraphs, imagining what it would be like to receive the first gift of Christmas.
To wrap up the week, students worked in three groups on a Readers’ Theatre of The Polar Express. The purpose of this activity was to practice expression and reading fluency. Each group performed their parts for the class on Friday, showing confidence, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
Students at RBES celebrated Holiday Hat Day on Monday and Holiday Sweater Day on Tuesday! Grade 3A joined in the fun, wearing festive hats, headbands, and cozy holiday sweaters. It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity and excitement as the school got into the holiday spirit!
On Friday, the last day before the holiday break, we celebrated Polar Express Day! Our class played games, watched the Polar Express movie, enjoyed hot chocolate and popcorn, and received a special delivery from Santa. It was a fun and cozy way to wrap up 2025 and get into the holiday spirit!
