These are the History and Geography 6 and 7 published in the year 2022.
Teaching Methods
The teaching methods that they usually use based on my observation are discussion, asking and answering, and activity-based learning. The teacher will let them open their textbook and discuss while asking questions based on their understanding of the lesson and later on when the discussion is done the teacher, gives an activity that will later be answered. She will individually check those students whose mark's low or those who got the wrong answer. This will give them the knowledge on which items they need to study and improve their level of understanding.
Learning Materials and Innovation
The learning materials used are the textbook entitled History and Geography 7 and History and Geography 6. Since their textbook changes every year because of the update of the information. As an innovation in learning materials, the teacher would use presentations and show it using the television or other creative materials like images, etc.
Sources of Learning / Technology
They used the textbooks from the new version of the book, which is the History and Geography 7 and 6, 2022 version. Based on my observation, they used technological tools like laptops and television during the discussion, and students were not allowed to use their phones or any mobile devices during class. The students can browse the library anytime they want to read added information about the lessons.
Authentic Assessment
Based on my observation the authentic assessment that the teachers used is through an evaluation form of assessment. Since the teacher wants to measure if the learners really understand the lesson, she gives out activities for every after-class discussion. Some authentic assessment was based on learners' behavior, performance, and participation during learning activities,
Curriculum
Private Institutions are free to determine their own curriculum in the 3 Level Future Primary School, it follows and observes a Student-Centered Curriculum which indicates that they prioritize providing activity-based assessments to fully measure the learner's capacity for learning. The Vietnam primary school syllabus focuses on several core subjects. Vietnamese, Mathematics, Moral Education, Natural and Social Sciences, the Arts, and Physical Education are some of these disciplines. From Grades 4 through Grade 7, History and Geography are also covered in class. For students in Grades 3 and up, the Ministry of Education and Training launched two new disciplines in 2017: foreign language and computer training, and the specific contents of the Future Integrated School. Minority languages are available as a separate elective.
Teaching Plan Related to Major
When our cooperating teachers sent the topic to our supervisor which is Mr. Tam, we decided to have a meeting so that we could discuss the topic that we are going to teach at the future Primary School. Our supervisor let us decide what type of lesson plans were going to use. I was tasked to teach in the Grade 6 and Grade 7.
