Greetings from India! I have been a part of GVC for the past 14 years. We use the global platform provided by GVC each year to communicate with teachers and students worldwide. This project lets teachers and students learn all the skills of the 21st century that will help us become global citizens today and in the future. This year, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Taiwanese and Turkish students and educators. The first video conference we held together was fascinating as everyone contributed to the selection of our website's theme, THE UNFILTERED VISION #REMOVE THE DISGUISE. To create this stunning website, the students put in a lot of effort and displayed a variety of skills, including communication, artistic, logical, and critical thinking. I hope you all find this collaborative work enjoyable to view.
Last but not least, I would like to express my gratitude to our principal ma'am Ms. Inderpreet Kaur Alluwalia and our project coordinator, Ms. JoAnn, for their guidance and assistance.
Ms Aakanksha Bisht
Everything began with a moment of reckoning for me, or, to use the words of Simone de Beauvoir: All oppression creates a state of war. This was no different. I, Aakanksha Bisht, have always felt uneasy because of the oppressive conversations that have been racial, caste-based, and misogynistic around me for years. Consequently, I began to seek answers and critically examine the personal experiences that shaped the mindset of the South Asian society. I became interested in GVC- THE UNFILTERED VISION #REMOVE THE DISGUISE as a result of this quest because I aspired to be a change maker by overcoming stereotypes, promoting the voices of marginalized groups, and developing young minds from the ground level. I thankful to be surrounded by my inspirational teachers like Ms Monica Uppal and Ms JoAnn , who challenged me to consider the many facets of society and look beyond the obvious to discover the truth through various projects. It was indeed a fulfilling experience

Greetings from Taiwan! I would like to show my appreciation for the opportunities that GVC provides for teachers and students worldwide to communicate and collaborate with each other. I would also like to thank Ms Monica Uppal and Ms Aakanksha Bisht for your kind support for my students to enjoy this wonderful experience. My students had fun discussing the various issues in the GVC- THE UNFILTERED VISION #REMOVE THE DISGUISE project, and we were literally blown away by the beautiful slides and posters, songs and poems, and all the stunning works by Indian and Turkish students. Their works were eye-opening and we learned a lot from collaborating with students from both schools. We think the issues raised are crucial, and the discussions we had have helped us become more acutely aware of the numerous social and environmental problems that are widespread and fundamentally important all across the world. As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded of how education can promote change and empower students to become global citizens. It has been truly an enriching experience.
