What is Community Mapping?
Community mapping, also known as asset mapping, focuses on including locals in recognising the neighbourhood's assets, considering potential, and painting a picture of what it's like to live there.
Why Community mapping?
Maps are a powerful tool of community participation because they are visual and simple to understand; similar to images and videos, they break down communication barriers to disclose thoughts and feelings that might otherwise be difficult to communicate.
What is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD)?
A strategy for sustainable, community-driven development is asset-based community development (ABCD). It is focused with how to connect microassets to the macroenvironment in addition to mobilising a specific community. The foundation of asset-based community development is the idea that by recognising and utilising already-existing, but sometimes underutilised assets, communities may direct their own growth. so overcoming obstacles and fostering neighbourhood social and economic growth.
