What is a community?

A community is a term which can have different meanings from different aspects.  Generally, a community is a group of people who share a similar locality, culture, religion, values, norms, identity, interest etc. Community defines "togetherness" and "belonging".

SUPPORT

Supporting others will make them feel good about themselves and better about themselves. There has never been a more crucial time to assist those battling with their mental and physical welfare due to the high levels of stress present in the busy world we live in.

INFLUENCE

Participation in the community leads to empowerment. People are more able to affect positive change when they feel in control and empowered. Making a difference for a group that matters to its members is the goal.

CONNECTION

What creates meaningful connections and deepens our sense of belonging is an open bond with new acquaintances. It gives us a sense of security and assists us in achieving our objectives.

PASSION

People can share a subject they are passionate about when they have a place to express themselves. This fosters creativity and inspires people to produce new items they may share with others.

REINFORCEMENT

Community can be a useful teaching tool for motivating students and promoting desired behaviours. Beyond the urgent, fundamental necessities, a strong community will make sure that satisfaction is a good experience.

SHARING

Encourages growth and innovation. Ideas generate more ideas. Sharing not only improves the individual by gaining information and understanding, but it also increases the value of the community.

Sense Of Community

Members of a group who feel a sense of community share a sense of belonging, a belief that they matter to the group and to one another, and a conviction that by sticking together, their needs will be satisfied. It has four main aspects-

MEMBERSHIP

It designates who belongs to the community and who doesn't. It demonstrates how important people find the sense of community that comes with membership.

FULLFILMENT OF NEEDS

People join communities in order to meet one or more of their needs. To become better at one's work or career is a typical need in a community of practise.

INFLUENCE

The idea that "my voice counts" is influence. When you talk, people pay attention and frequently take your counsel.

EMOTIONAL CONNECTION

It refers to a strongly felt connection between members as well as a shared past, participation in, and identification with that past. Although it is the most hazy part, it is nevertheless crucial.
