Pink in Taiwan

Baihe Lotus Festival

Every year around June- August is the lotus blossom season. You can visit Baihe, Tainan during "Baihe Lotus Festival". Every lotus is in full blossom, the pink flowers are very beautiful. The visitors can sit on the big lotus leaf floating on the water. It's so much fun. Lotus flowers are used to brew tea and the seeds can be found in many local dishes.

Tangyuan (Glutinous rice balls)

The shape and the pronunciation of Tangyuan symbolize harmony and reunion. Eating Tangyuan during Winter Solstice means you grow one year older; eating Tangyuan during the Lantern Festival means reunion and harmony. Red Tangyuan symbolizes gold, while white represent silver.

Taiwan 100 yuan banknote

Taiwan 100 yuan bill is pink. The man on it is our national father, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. And the building on the back of the banknote is Zhongshan Building in Yangmingshan, Taipei City. This building was built to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-Sen's 100-year birthday.

CHERRY BLOSSOM

Cherry blossom season in Taiwan is from late January to middle April. In Cherry blossom season, a lot of petals fall, like flower rain. You can see different kind of cherry blossom in Taiwan, like Xinshe, Alishan, and Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village.
