Becoming More Active

A balance of exercise can help improve your ability to do simple tasks as well as making more challenging tasks manageable. Here are some tips to help you become more active.

Continuous Exercise

To maintain a physically fit body, one should exercise often and on a schedule. There are many ways we can incorporate exercise into our busy daily schedules, such as joining a sport or going to the gym before or after work. Your job, if it requires physical activities, can also serve as a form of exercise. Without continuous exercise, all of your hard work to become fit will go to waste.

Variety in Exercise

"Variety is the spice of life." If you only work out one portion of the body, you will eventually hit a brick wall where you cannot improve anymore. Why does this happen? Your body is interconnected many surprising ways, so to increase your ability in one strength you will need to increase the strength in another part of your body. An example of this is track runners who, despite them mostly using their legs, will work out their upper body to increase the power of their swings.

To live a happy and healthy life, we must prioritize our health and soul over our tedious and busy schedule. In order to do so, we should pay heed to yoga, meditation and other physical activities which makes our mind and soul calm and relaxed. Adhering to a daily yoga routine, it helps us get rid of diseases, keeps us fit and even makes our mood healthy and fresh. A person may be disease free without exercising but he would not be considered as a healthy being because healthy is the one who is mentally, socially and physically fit and to remark ourselves as healthy, yoga plays a vital role globally. It is a means to unite our soul to the universal spirit of nature.

Another way to rejuvenate our mind and soul is meditation. Meditation has various scientifically proven results, like it controls stress, anxiety, promotes educational health, enhances self-awareness, increases attention span, reduces age related memory loss, can generate kindness and it even fights addiction. To promote meditation in school, we have early morning and afternoon meditation conducted regularly. It isn’t all about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person, instead it’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. It’s not about trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings, but is about learning to observe them without judgment. And consequently, you may start to better understand them as well.
