Lake Central High School recently participated in a Saint Baldrick's Foundation head-shaving fundraiser. The foundation directly raises money to support childhood cancer research. The event also helps to raise awareness and solidarity for those children who have to deal with cancer, including some of our own students. Not only do contributions help fund research, they also help with inclusivity of those who may feel excluded, which helps their mental well-being.
Last year, our own Carter Goldman raised over $775 USD for childhood cancer research. Over the past few years, Lake Central High School has raised over $100,000 USD for the Saint Baldrick's foundation. These contributions have gone on to help the health and wellness of children with cancer.
