College-bound Seniors: Schedule a meeting with your counselor at least 6 weeks before your first deadline!
Windham High School sophomores attended an assembly with representatives from Westbrook Regional Vocational Center and Portland Arts and Technology High School on December 13. All WRVC programs are available for Windham High School students, along with select PATHS programs. Many vocational programs are very competitive and students should make every effort to visit and apply as soon as possible. Below are the instructions for each program:
Westbrook Regional Vocational Center: Students interested in programs at WRVC will need to follow the steps to attend the visit in the afternoon of January 30. This is a mandatory step in the application process.
1. Students should review the program offerings and complete the Google Form requesting to visit.
2. Students should stop by the Counseling Office to pick up a permission slip for their parent/guardian to sign. Students will not be allowed to attend the 1/30 visit day without a signed permission slip.
After visiting WRVC, students will be allowed to apply online to the program of their choice starting on February 1. As part of the application process, students will sign up for a virtual interview with the program instructor. The visit, application, and interview are all required to be considered for admission.
Portland Arts & Technology High School: Auto Collision, Commercial Art, Cybersecurity, Dance, Food Service, Horticulture, Marine Service, Masonry, Music, New Media, Plumbing & HVAC, & Welding only.
Windham High School students have access the PATHS programs listed above. Visits to PATHS are set up on an individual basis.
1. Students request a visit by using the PATHS Visit Google Form.
2. Once PATHS schedules the individual visit, the student will be called to the Counseling Office to receive a permission slip for the specific date and time. The student should return the signed permission slip ASAP. They cannot attend the visit without a signed permission slip, as it will prompt a bus pass to be created to get the student to PATHS at the correct time.
Students interested in PATHS will typically discuss admission on their visit. There is not a separate application or interview requirement.
Please have your student reach out to their school counselor with any questions!
Students entering their junior year at Windham High School may apply to be accepted into vocational programs at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center (WRVC) and some programs at Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS). Application instructions are published in February via Google Classroom and announcements. Program information can be found on their school websites.
Students interested in attending a vocational program as juniors and seniors are encouraged to complete the Health, Wellness, and Fine Arts graduation requirements as early as possible.
