Each week please watch three of these short videos. Take notes in your pukapuka. use the new words and sentences you are learning. plan a time that you can say these and who you will say them to.
This week you will be doing some mahi on the waharoa of our kura and some learning and planning around Matariki with Matua Joe.

Term goal setting: Choose one behaviour goal and one learning goal to focus of for the term.
Write your goals down in your pukapuka. We will be focusing on revisiting, and working towards our goals. Write down three strategies that can help you achieve each goal. We will be sharing these with each other.

Look through the resources below and find out all that you can about Poutini and Waitaiki. Make sure you click on every link below.
On a map of Aotearoa, you will mark all the places mentioned in this pūrākau.
You will create a presentation that retells this pūrākau in your own words. You can sing, create a roleplay, create a video, create a haka, write, create a slideshow - whichever you choose. You will share your presentation to the class.

Find out everything you can about the bird and it's habitat, then create a presentation to teach us about your chosen manu.
Make sure you answer the following questions too:
Is it endangered or not? Why?
What does it eat? How does it survive?
What does it need (or do) to keep safe from predators?
Describe an interaction of your bird with another bird, animal or plant.
Does this relationship help or hinder it's survival? Explain why.
Why is this bird important to Māori? This is an important question (a main part of the assessment) - go into as much detail as possible to explain this. Add in any related whakataukī or pūrakau that you can find.
Choose how you want to present this and make sure you have a visual of the bird.
Please make sure you reference all material you need. You can use the internet and books from the library to research your chosen bird.

You have been collecting all of the information you can about your chosen atua. Remember to look at the books in the whare. Please use your time well.

Remember that you need to create a visual of your chosen atua, you need to tell us all about them, making sure that you talk about whānau interactions, characteristics and actions (at least two of each) in detail - use examples if possible.
Make sure you record all of the resources you use to collect information.
