Welcome to Woodmont High Attendance, where every day is a great day on West Georgia Road! Student attendance is vital to the student's success here at WHS. We are here to encourage, embrace and excel at Woodmont. This website is intended to provide important information regarding attendance policies, early dismissals, and tardies.
If your student is absent from school, you do not need to call or email attendance.
Please submit all notes for absences using the google form below or send a note in with your student when they return to school.
All notes must be turned in within three (3) days of a student's return.
NO EARLY DISMISSALS AFTER 3:15
DISMISSALS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 1 HOUR PRIOR TO DISMISSAL
Early dismissal requests can be submitted online the day of dismissal. All requests need to include the student's name, parent's name and the phone number provided in the student's BACKPACK. The google form is linked in the blue tab above.
Once verified, the student and teacher will receive a SmartPass to leave through the front office at the time of the dismissal.
If the parent is not available for a verbal confirmation then the early dismissal will not be approved.
Students must check their SmartPass for the early dismissal and notify the teacher or substitute when it is time for them to leave.
Absences are defined as either lawful (excused) or unlawful (unexcused). The school year consists of 180 school days. Students must attend 85 days of each 90-day semester or 170 days of each 180-day year course to receive credit.
Here at Woodmont we are on a block semester schedule so attendance will follow the 85-days of attendance of a 90-day semester.
PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT CHANGES TO ATTENDANCE RULES FOR THE
2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
GCS new attendance policy was implemented in the 2024-2025 school year. The policy states that any absences in excess of 5 days for a semester will not be excused without medical documentation. We strongly encourage parents and students to review the Attendance Guidelines in the WHS Student Handbook, which can be found on the
Greenville County Schools website ( GCS Attendance Rules ) or on the Attendance Policy tab located above.
