Grading Policy/Practices: 

NHI (Not Handed In) grades will be calculated as a “0” until the work is turned in to the teacher.  Due to SC Law, there are no GFA (Grade Floor Applied) grades in any class.

English 1 Honors: 

Within each quarter, major grades calculate as 60% of the quarter grade and minor grades calculate as 40%.  

Greenville County Grading Scale:
90 - 100 A
80 - 89 B
70 - 79 C
60 - 69 D
0   - 59 F

 Final Exam score counts 10% of the final course grade.

Final grade is calculated as follows:  Semester 1 average is 45%, Semester 2 average is 45% and the final exam grade is 10%.  

ELA 8 Studies: 

Within each quarter, major grades calculate as 50% of the quarter grade and minor grades calculate as 50%.

Late Work Procedures:

Our school acknowledges that students may occasionally be absent and need to make up assignments. The following policy outlines the procedures and consequences for late work submission.

Submission Deadlines and Penalties

• First 5 Days: Students may submit make-up work within five days of the original due date with no penalty.

• Days 6-10: After the initial five days, a deduction of 5 points per day will be applied for up to five additional days.

• After 10 Days: Assignments submitted more than 10 days late will be marked as a zero, and the work will no longer be accepted.

• This policy is designed to encourage timely submission of assignments while providing flexibility for those who are absent.

• Teachers and staff are here to support students in managing their workload and meeting deadlines.
