Trauma informed practices is intended for a full school faculty, building their understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and effective trauma-informed practices for overcoming ACES.
If your school is using Capturing Kids Hearts or Conscious Discipline, you do not need to attend the Part 2: Trauma-Informed Practices PD.

Social and Emotional (SEL) Foundations is a train the trainer series to understand the why, what, and how of integrating SEL into the academic day. Counselors are trained and provide the series to their staff over the course of a year.
Training in SEL Foundations was provided to Elementary and Middle Schools in 2019-20.
Behavior 101 provides training to your staff in the following 5 components (1 hour per component)

This training is recommended after ACEs and TIPs PD.
Conscious Discipline
Conscious Discipline embodies Trauma-Informed Practices through 4 main elements: Brain State Model, Conscious Adults, Creating the School Family, Seven Skills of Discipline. Specific schools are participating in the Conscious Discipline training through a cohort PLC approach. Schools will meet monthly through a facilitated PLC with the following schedule:
Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour full day training that provides staff members with the warning signs of mental illness and substance abuse and ways to respond, based on student needs. Recommended for nurses, front office staff, behavior interventionists; however, all staff benefit from this training.
Zones of Regulation
Zones of Regulation provides Tier 2 or 3 (supplemental) instruction to students to teach skills to identify and regulate their emotions. This is intended for counselors and special education teachers.
Advanced Trauma-Informed Practices
Advanced Trauma-Informed Practices provides in-depth training to behavior interventionists to help prevent, and effectively respond to, challenging behaviors. This involves a Professional Learning Community series, starting with a full day workshop and subsequent meetings to problem-solve around challenging cases.
Social Thinking
Social Thinking provides training to teach students social pragmatics to increase their understanding and participation in the social world. This PD is intended for speech pathologists and special education teachers.
Restorative practices is intended for a targeted school team and emphasizes a support system to students, along with an alternative discipline approach, teaching students to reflect, repair harm, and restore relationships.
Completion of all of the SEL 101 Series and self-assessment are critical prior to beginning Restorative Practices.
