Visual Arts Department Re-Do Policy:

Re-Do Expectations


To better serve our student’s educational needs and provide consistency across the school, the Visual Art Department at Riverside High School will adhere to the following re-do expectations .


  • Students will have the opportunity to redo one major grade per semester.

    • All students have the opportunity to redo one major grade per semester.

      • The redo grade will replace the original grade.

      • Students must discuss their intent to replace a failing major grade with their teacher.

      • Art-making Assignments are excluded from Re-Do Policy.


  • If the re-do grade is lower than the original grade, the original grade will be honored.

  • No redos will be accepted after the 8th week of the quarter so that teachers have time to grade before the nine weeks end.

  • The major grade has to have been submitted to be considered for the redo policy.

    • Meaning a major assignment that was never turned in is not eligible for redo.

  • All major assessments will provide a bonus question - “What did you know about this unit/topic that wasn’t covered on this assessment? which will allow students the opportunity to describe what they know about the content that wasn’t asked on the assessment.

    • This question will be graded as Bonus Points.
