About The Teacher

Brief Bio

I am thrilled to be one of the teachers at Grove Elementary School. I am a graduate of Southside H. S. part of the School District of Greenville County; Central Wesleyan College / Southern Wesleyan University, and Furman University. I have a B.A. Degree in Music Education K-12 in Instrumental and Vocal music. I also have an M.A. Degree in School Administration and Superintendent. I have also studied at several other universities to further my education and to become the best teacher and administrator including: The University of South Carolina, Clemson University, Charleston Southern University, Winthrop University, Illinois State University, and Connecticut State University. I can play most instruments; however my major instruments are Tuba, Flute, Piano, and Pipe Organ. I was the band director and chorus teacher at Dacusville Junior High School / Middle School for 12 years where I was blessed to be a part of one of the best faculties and taught some outstanding students. I left Dacusville and was hired as the band director at Walhalla H. S. for 8 years – 1997-2005. The bands at Walhalla excelled in all areas including Marching, Jazz, Concert, Winter Guard, and Percussion Ensemble. I was assistant principal at J. L. Mann H. S. & Academy for 2 years – 2005-2007 and then became the first administrator for the Star Academy for Academic Acceleration part of the School District of Greenville County for 6 years-2007 - 2013. This is my fourth year as the music educator at Grove Elementary. I am also the Director of Music at the Springfield Baptist Church in Greenville, SC as well as the Founder / Director of the Upstate Live Theater-vtp a new theater for Upstate South Carolina audiences. I am married to a terrific woman who I love dearly.
