2023-2024 Jazz News
*A year shortened by COVID 19
Guys,
I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am about not being able to come back to the classroom so that we could finish your senior year together. We had such a successful February show at the Peace Center along with all of the recitals and showcases at the FAC. We were working together on a common goal of excellence, which is what the FAC is all about.
I hope that you have learned how to dig deep and work hard to achieve a goal which will apply to any future endeavors that you might pursue. This is the characteristic of any successful person in any profession. Always try your very best and you will have no regrets in the life ahead of you.
We will press on with projects that I think will help your future musical development. In some ways, what we are doing now might help you more than trying to work on material for concerts. This will give you some time to concentrate on your individual musical needs. You have had plenty of quality ensemble experiences, more than most young musicians of your age. When all of this passes, I'll try to come up with a date that we might be able to perform at The Peace Center. I know they are interested in having us perform.
So in closing, stay positive and focused and we will all get through these trying times together. I believe that in the future these current events might just seem like a small bump in the road on that journey we call life.
Best to all of you.
Stay Safe,
Steve
