Indiana University's Kelley School of Business FREE Summer Program (MEET Kelley): Free weeklong summer program targeting underrepresented minority high school students. Students will attend classes, team with other students to create and present a business plan, make connections, experience college life, and learn about IU admissions and scholarships. Must be a high school junior, be African American, Latino/ Hispanic, American Indian/ Native American, Native Hawaiian/ Pacific Islander, or multiracial, and have a 3.4 GPA on a 4.0 scale (unweighted). Furman Emerging Public Leaders: June 19-24. This program offers a series of experiences that enable students to become public leaders in both domestic and international arenas. The program is free of charge to all students who are selected to participate. You can complete an application online at riley.furman.edu or contact Melanie Armstrong at 294-3688. Furman Summer Scholars: July 10-16 or July 17-23. Challenge your mind, make new friends, and have fun while taking part in lectures, discussions, debates, laboratory research, field trips, group and individual projects, and much more. Led by some of Furman's favorite professors, Summer Scholars give you the opportunity to learn the way Furman students do-- through collaboration with their peers and professors both in and outside the classroom. Cornell University CURIE and CATALYST Academies: One-week summer residential programs for high school students who excel in math and science, enjoy solving problems, and want to learn more about careers in engineering. The CURIE Academy is for rising junior and senior women of any background. The CATALYST Academy is for rising sophomore, junior, an senior male and female students from backgrounds severely underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines. Notre Dame Pre-College Programs: 1) Summer Scholars June 25-July 9. Explore one of 19 fields of study at the college level. 2) Notre Dame Leadership Seminars (July 16-July 27) offers rising seniors the opportunity to engage in discussions on issues of global concern. 3) Study Abroad: Rome-- 12 day seminar to focus on the built environment for rising seniors. South Carolina Business Week: July 24-39 at Presbyterian College. This program is designed to educate high school students on entrepreneurship and the Americanfree enterprise system. Students attend fully sponsored on sponsorships from the business community ($50 fee due upon acceptance). Application is due April 17th and includes an essay. Washington University Summer Programs: Experience college life before your freshman year--- earn college credit, learn about college in all its dimensions, live with other high school students from across the country, enjoy social and cultural opportunities on campus and in St. Louis. High School Summer Scholars Program— 5 weeks, select 2 college courses- credit transferable to most accredited universities.
