Theatre is offered in most middle and high schools and some elementary schools in Greenville County. The theatre programs are led by highly-qualified Theatre and English teachers. Each school produces large main stage or musical performances and smaller in-class performances. Greenville has a thriving Theatre community and as a result students are provided the opportunity to see live, professional performances often.

One of the most important aspects of Theatre in Greenville County Schools is each program participates in adjudicated events. The purpose is for students and teachers to garner important feedback about what they are doing well and areas that can improved. The teacher uses this feedback to help craft future instruction to continually improve student performance.

Greenville County Schools has strong partnerships with the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, South Carolina Children's Theatre and the Warehouse Theatre. Our theatre community partners bring live, professional theatre into our schools and provide our teachers with rich, hands-on theatre professional development.
