Theatre education is available in most middle and high schools, as well as select elementary schools throughout Greenville County. Our programs are led by highly qualified Theatre and English educators who are passionate about the performing arts.
Each school typically stages major productions—such as musicals or main stage performances—alongside smaller in-class performances. Students also have frequent opportunities to attend live, professional theatre, thanks to Greenville’s vibrant arts community.
A key component of our Theatre programs is participation in adjudicated events. These events provide valuable feedback to both students and teachers, highlighting strengths and identifying areas for growth. Teachers use this input to refine instruction and continually enhance student performance.
Greenville County Schools also benefits from strong partnerships with local arts organizations, including the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, the South Carolina Children’s Theatre, and the Warehouse Theatre. These partnerships bring professional theatre experiences into our schools and offer ongoing, hands-on professional development for our teachers.
