Fine Arts Center

The Fine Arts Center of Greenville, SC was established in August of 1974 as the first specialized arts school in the state of South Carolina.

Since its opening, thousands of students have chosen to become members of this unique community in which individual talent and expression are nourished in a supportive environment and stimulated by instructors who are themselves highly regarded practicing professional artists.  Students are provided advanced comprehensive arts instruction in the areas of architecture, theatre, dance, visual arts, music, creative writing, audio engineering and digital film making.

Nationally known visiting artists exhibit in the Sheffield Wood Gallery, teach, and perform at the school, interacting directly with students in workshops and master classes.

Students at the Fine Arts Center are artistically talented and are immersed in an intensive pre-professional program of study.  Classes are held at the Fine Arts Center five days a week and students attend either the morning or afternoon session for 110 minutes of instruction each day. Students who attend the Fine Arts Center attend their home high school for their core academic classes.

Each year over 400 students attend the Fine Arts Center. Graduates of the Fine Arts Center gain admittance to top colleges and universities around the country.
