Club: Art Club

 

Objective: The mission of the Art, Advanced Art, and Adaptive Art classes are to learn about the Visual Arts through discussion, instruction, and practice, as well as, develop an appreciation for different medias, perspectives, and the history of art and artists.

Art and Advanced Art are meant to make visual art connections beyond the art classroom at school.

Google Classroom in the Art Room

ALL assignments will be posted in Google Classroom--both sketchbook and in class assignments. You will then photograph your work and turn it in through Google Classroom for a grade.

I will only grade assignments submitted properly through Google Classroom.

Grading Scale

A 90-100

B 89-80

C 79-70

D 69-60

F 59 and below

All grading is based upon a rubric that is based upon the Standards and Expectations of the assignment. Students will be aware of the rubric before, during, and after working on their assignment.

*Grading is earned and will be based upon a rubric. Rubrics are based upon the SC State Standards and National Standards for Visual Arts.

 

Late Work:

District Policy: Schools will accept late work with no penalty to th student up to 7days after the original due date or the end of the grading period, whichever comes first. A teacher may extend the late work acceptance deadline but may not reduce the time. The work, although submitted late, will not receive a point reduction. Assignments must be about mastery of content and if graded, the goal is to assess mastery, not behaviors. Work can be accepted late across grading periods by special exception and approval of the teacher and/or administrator.
