My name is Karen McClain, and I am so excited to be your child's second-grade teacher! I have had the joy of teaching first, second, third, and fourth grades, but second grade will always hold a special place in my heart. I love watching students become more confident, curious, and independent learners as they explore new ideas and discover all they are capable of achieving. I can’t wait for a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and lots of exciting adventures together!
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Southern Wesleyan University and my Master's degree in Education from Clemson University—Go Tigers! . I continue my own learning through professional development and ongoing training so I can provide the best possible learning experiences for every student.
I live in Greer with my husband, Brian, who is a high school teacher in Anderson County. We have one daughter, Leslie, who is a senior at Greer High School. Our family also includes our Chihuahua, Spencer, who keeps us entertained and loved at home!
