These activities have been created to allow you to put into practice the skills listed under each skill level. The only way to become proficient in the use of Google is to actually put it into regular use.
Create a new Google Slides presentation to use at an upcoming event (Open House, Introduction of a new unit, Introduction of your class, etc.). Use the new slide button to create several slides with the formatting already setup for you. Add appropriate content to the slide including any images and links to relevant sites. Load this Google Slides document into your Google classroom giving students view privileges only. Present the slides to the appropriate audience.
Using Google Slides for pretensions is just one of the ways you can use this tool. In this activity you should create the starting point of a presentation in which the students will add content. Create a title slide and on slide two create the directions that tell the students to create their own slide and add the appropriate content. For example you could have each student define an assigned term from an upcoming unit. Once you have your "starting point" finished, create a new assignment in Google Classroom and add this Google Slides presentation giving all students editing privileges.
Plan a lesson that will require a presentation that has interactive components using the Google Slides add-on Pear Deck. Use the presentation to collect real time checks for understanding, opportunities for students to answer questions or provide responses.
