SOPHOMORES
GOALS FOR 10TH GRADE
Welcome to your sophomore year! We’re excited to work more closely with you. The most important thing we can tell sophomores and their parents is this: relax! You are not behind. You still have plenty of time to figure out your college plans, and not very much of your sophomore year should be spent thinking about college.
Here's what you can expect from us in those few moments where you do think about college:
Building on last year’s Fresh curriculum, you’ll continue to develop and reflect on your personal interests. You’ll start to form a picture of what kind of colleges may appeal to you based on your interests and passions. We’ll also help you explore standardized testing options and set reasonable timelines for taking them.
You and your families will gain access to web-based college counseling resources like SCOIR and learn how they help with your college search and applications. We'll share more information about these types of resources in the spring.
Wondering when to expect updates from our office? We're sharing our sophomore college timeline in two ways. First, take a look at our brief "at-a-glance" timeline below. Then, feel free to browse our detailed, month-by-month timeline linked below as well.
