The concept of reinforcement is one of the most important and utilized principles in applied behavior analysis (ABA)
Reinforcement is anything that comes after a behavior (consequence), that increases the likelihood that there will be an increase in the future probability or frequency of that behavior
You will know that reinforcement has occurred when behavior increases because of a consequence of either adding something to the environment (positive reinforcement) or removing something from the environment (negative reinforcement)
