Now more than ever, news around the world is mainly focused on the negatives and stressful events. This column is refreshing from the normal news outlets, where good news circulating around the world is highlighted. It is important that this generation, informs themselves on unfavorable news. Whether it is politics, conflicts around the world or destructive natural disasters. But it is equally as valuable to also take a close look at the positives in the world. Veering the negative look on the world, can result in less "our world is horrible" and more of "look at this cool solution to this problem" or " the world is not all so bad".
Scientifically it is shown that the brain focuses on the negatives. And is constantly on guard, this can be drawn back to cavemen. Where they had to always be on guard, in case a mountain lion came sneaking up. This translates to modern-day too, even though we are in considerably less danger our brain has more bad thoughts than good.
So come read this column, when you are too focused on the world ending.
