Advanced placement (AP) classes are college-level classes that expect students to be prepared for an extensive and rigorous study of the curricular area. Students in these courses can expect 1-2 hours of homework each night. The purpose of these courses is to prepare students for the Advanced Placement exam in May. A student's score on the AP exam may allow the student the opportunity to receive college credit.
