Will participated in a variety of bands in high school, including pit, jazz, and concert bands. He would like to continue playing in the future and possibly in some kind of band in college, though he is unsure of exactly what and in what capacity!!!

Josstyn Durst has been a part of the band program since 5th grade. She continued her passion for alto saxophone through all four years of high school. In her junior year, she was given The Leadership award for stepping up for her section. Shortly after, she got the chance to be a section leader for the saxophone section during her senior year. Josstyn has gained experience and confidence through her time in the band program. Josstyn does not plan to continue music, but she is fully committed to UW-Madison to pursue law and criminology.
David Fandler - Percussion

David Fandler has been with the band program since freshman year, he drummed for Jazz One and the Black Hawk drumline all 4 years. David is planning on attending NCU Minneapolis for English and Business Administration but continue his love for drumming in a student led jazz assemble on campus.

Hannah has been playing music since 5th grade. She loves to write new music and has composed pieces for the school's Black Hawk Drumline. Recently, her composed piece has earned a place at State for solo ensemble. Hannah has also become the first Associate Drum Major for the GHS band. Hannah plans to go to UW-Stevens Point. Majoring in music performance and composition.

Senior Drum Major Lacey Greicar has spent all four of her high school years as a member of the Grafton High School music program. She has played in the Pit Orchestra for four years on guitar as a freshman and sophomore, on keyboard as a junior, and on tenor saxophone as a senior. While also being a member of Jazz 1 on either upright bass or tenor saxophone for her four years, Lacey has also been the director of Jazz 2 since being a sophomore. Her time in this program has been extremely special to her, and she thanks everyone who made it what it was. Lacey will be continuing her education at Michigan Technological University with a major in biomedical engineering and a minor in music.

Colin has been in the Grafton Band program since the 5th grade, and has enjoyed participating in the Jazz and Marching programs as well. Colin plans on attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall, majoring in Economics, and participating in the UW Marching Band.
Khris Hackbarth - Double Bass, Tenor Sax

Khris started playing tenor in elementary school and through middle school. Once he got to high school he started to play bass for freshman band and for jazz. Along the way he picked up playing country guitar and singing with it. Khris primarily plays bass for wind ensemble and for jazz.
Gabe Jahnke - Band Assistant
Instrument: "My amazing muscles, dashing smile, and my winning personality"
For the past four years, Gabe Jahnke has served as the Band Assistant. A role in which he has been protecting the band from rogue basketballs, fallen drum sticks, pushed buttons during shows, and taken enough photos to fill a small museum. Gabe is incredibly grateful to have gotten to know everyone in the band, and would like to give thanks to not only his friends and drums majors, but also to Mr. Brown who let him become a so called unpaid intern. To the band and Mr. Brown, Gabe wishes nothing but amazing performances, epic halftime shows, and minimal flying projectiles in the years to come. He wishes everyone in the band and Mr. Brown an exciting and successful future, he will remember these memories for years to come.
Ethan Masmela - Trumpet

Ethan played for 3 years in high school band and all 4 years in the jazz band. his favorite part throughout his time in being in the band were the trips to new york and nashville and being able to experience them with his friend. Ethan plans on attending 4 years at UW platteville in mechanical engineering, hoping to also pursue jazz music and play in a band during this time.

Nina Massie has been a part of the music program since 5th grade and has continued to be a part of a multitude of groups throughout the years. Having been in the band since the start of her journey and performing in the JLMS choir in 7th and 8th grade, she only began to really expand her experience when she moved to GHS. Along with being first chair bass clarinetist, she has been a part of the pit orchestra for all four years of high school as well as being in both jazz ensembles from sophomore to senior year, she also performed in the Chamber Choir in her senior year. Nina has put countless hours into the program and is planning on continuing her music career as she goes on to major in music education at St. Norbert College.

In his years at Grafton High school, Shane participated in Solo and Ensemble, making state in ensembles three times. Shane also participated in Jazz 2 and pep band. His future plans are to study marketing at University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Aryanna Minor has been in band since her 5th grade. In the past eight years she has learned a multitude of instruments with Flute being her primary instrument Wind ensemble and Oboe as a secondary instrument for Concert Band. She has been in the Jazz band all four years of high school playing the Trumpet. Aryanna will attend UW-Milwaukee, majoring in Chemistry, she will continue her career in music with the community band.
Bret Nersveen - Trombone

Bret has been in the band program since 5th grade and has played trombone for all of those years. In high school, Bret has done pit orchestra for 2 years and has had a love for the low range, playing bass parts and bass trombone parts whenever needed. Bret plans to study applied computing at the University of Arizona after high school.

Nelson has had an incredible time being a part of the GHS band program for the past four years. His experience playing the clarinet and being part of this community has been a defining and unforgettable part of his high school experience. After graduation, Nelson plans to attend UW Milwaukee and major in psychology. While pursuing his academic goals, he also looks forward to continuing his musical journey by playing in UWM’s community band and pep band.
Gabriel Salko - Bari Sax

Gabe started in 5th grade playing the Flute. Then switched to Alto Sax in 6th grade, then to Tenor Sax in 7th grade. Half way though 7th grade Gabe switched to Bari Sax. He's been playing the Bari Sax through middle school and through high school. Gabe played in Jazz I all four years of his high school career. Gabe plans to attend University of Tampa for Film & Media arts.

Jordan has greatly enjoyed her time spent in band since she was in 5th grade. It's grown to become one of her favorite classes, and one she looks forward to continuing in college. Over the course of the past eight years, she's learned how to play flute and piccolo, and attempted alto saxophone, trombone. She's also been in pit the past four years in which she was given the opportunity to play the recorder. She's played in the Grafton jazz band, pep band, marching band, and played along with concert band at concerts. After high school, she plans to attend UW Milwaukee, pursuing a chemistry degree, and will be a part of their community band and pep band.

Aaron has been drumline captain for the past 2 years, in Jazz I for the past three, and in pit orchestra and the Blackhawk Drumline for 4, and has brought a lot to the program throughout his time here. He intents to march 4 years of DCI, starting THIS SUMMER with the Colt Cadets, and he also intends to join the marching band at UW Madison!

Alan has participated in many band extracurriculars, from Jazz to Pit Orchestra. Since freshman year, he has elevated his saxophone playing skills immensely, becoming a better musician. He is grateful for the time he has spent in this program and the people he has met. He hopes to continue with music through the marching band and other opportunities in college.
