Students stay in requested classroom for the full duration of the wave.
Students should not report to the library for any reason except Chromebook issues.
Provide all students the opportunity to receive additional support within the school day including: reteaching, test preparation, and retesting or any academic support teachers feel is important to learning.
Students will explore various topics to enrich their learning and help prepare them for their future. These topics include: career exploration, college exploration, test preparation, inquiry-based learning, literacy growth, etc.
Students will implement and monitor their Education Development Plan via Naviance.
Students will monitor their own learning through goal setting, grade checks, and personal reflections.
Students will receive academic support during Seminar time from their teachers.
Students will implement and monitor their Education Development Plan via Naviance to create goals, explore careers and/or explore colleges.
Students will monitor their academic progress by completing a weekly grade check and monthly reflection.
Students will choose from or be assigned various other activities to expand their knowledge base and to prepare them for college entrance exams and state testing via a menu of options..
Attendance is required. Students who are absent 7 or more times during Seminar can lose credit.
Attendance:
Students need to attend Seminar regularly.
Students should arrive on time.
Seminar Time:
Students should regularly open/check the Seminar website (icon on Chromebook) + check their email in Seminar for any messages.
Students should open PowerSchool for Grade Check.
Students should set weekly goals (with rationale) for how they will use Seminar.
Seminar is not a free hour--students need to be working on something academic.
Students should be getting academic support with their requests.
Requests are not optional (students must report to the requesting teacher).
If a student’s grade is below 70%, they should be seeking our intervention/requests from their teachers.
Students should work on a Menu item of choice in the first wave, and during the second wave can choose to complete coursework.
