Khan Academy is an incredible resource for independent learning. You can find many areas to explore through videos, examples, and practice tests. From SAT preparation to Art History; from Computer Programming to Finance, “you can learn anything. For free. For everyone. Forever.”
Khan Academy is a great intervention tool to help students practice and improve skills.
Additonally, the PSAT and SAT is coming in October and again in April. Research shows that practice with Khan Academy has a direct effect on PSAT/SAT performance (see info graphic below). During February and March, students will be presented 8 opportunities to practice with Khan Academy. Students should have a minimum of 6 Khan Academy practice experiences (3 Math/3 English Language Arts) and track it on the Khan Academy Form in the Seminar folder. Experiences are designed to last between 10-20 minutes. Of course students may do more (amount and duration). The College Board and Khan Academy partnership gives students free, personalized practice for the SAT.
Students will also enroll in a on-line Khan Academy classroom where their Seminar teacher will track their progress and guide their preparation for PSAT/SAT.
