The Community: Grandville is a residential, suburban area in the metropolitan Grand Rapids area. The school district covers 50 square miles in Kent and
Ottawa counties and includes the cities of Grandville, Walker, and Wyoming. The school system includes seven elementary schools, a junior high school,
and a senior high school. The district population is about 38,000. The citizens actively participate and support all levels of the educational system and take
pride in the programs, facilities, and high academic standards.

We believe that students make the best choices after reading this book and discussing their potential career goals with their parents. Good decisions for high school courses enhance the possibilities after high school. Please read this information carefully. Students will meet with the counselor to select courses. The counselor will help the student plan a program that satisfies the graduation requirements and reflects the student’s goals.
Students: Selecting classes may seem overwhelming at first; the most important thing to remember is your goal after graduation. The purpose of high school is to prepare you for the adult world. Your guidance counselor will work closely with you throughout high school to help plan the best course of action based on your career and educational goals.
