Inside The Life of Carly
Carly was born on January 17, 2008 in the heart of downtown Houston, Texas at one of the oldest and smallest hospital in the city known for its #1 rated Medical Center. The youngest of four, Carly was welcomed to the world by her brother, sister, two moms, two sets of doting grandparents, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Carly demonstrated amazing aptitude early on, always beating the average on developmental milestones. She was always ahead of everyine else when she held her head up, and rolled over, all “before she was supposed to”, according to her pediatrician. She continued in these ways by learning to communicate with sign language by the age of nine months.
Continuing to be on the fast track, Carly quickly conquered pre-kindergarten through pre-kindergarten 4, and at the age of 4, began kindergarten in a private school setting. She excelled in formal schooling as well, quickly learning to read and write. Once she began the public school track, she breezed through a two-way immersion dual language program in elementary school with straight A’s and gathered many accolades along the way.
Now as an 8th grader at Woodland Acres Middle School, which is part of Galena Park Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Carly continues to diligently strive for excellence in all that she attempts. She is currently in all Pre-Advanced Placement core classes, Encounters, Wind Ensemble Band (percussion), Tech Club, Athletics at School, and plays for The school's volleyball team. Carly is never convinced on what she wants to pursue in the future, but she is certain that she wants to work somewhere in the STEM field.
There is no doubt that Carly will do whatever it takes to continue her string of successes all the way to the country that is also a continent. And when she does, we can all say, “We knew her when…”.
